Immediate Lymphatic Reconstruction After Lymphadenectomy in Melanoma Patients
This study is testing a procedure called lymphovenous bypass (LVB) to see if it can prevent lymphedema (swelling caused by fluid buildup) in melanoma patients. LVB would be performed at the same time as surgery to remove lymph nodes (lymphadenectomy) in the armpit or groin. Researchers want to see if doing LVB during the initial surgery, rather than waiting for lymphedema to develop, can reduce its occurrence. They will also look at wound complications, how long drains are needed, and your quality of life.
