mHealth App and Booklets for Sickle Cell Disease

This study is testing if an mHealth app (a health app on your phone) combined with booklets can help adults with sickle cell disease (SCD) manage their condition better. The app and booklets contain patient-friendly guidelines for SCD. We want to see if using these tools can reduce how often people with SCD need to go to the hospital or emergency room. You might be able to join if you are an adult (18 years or older) with a diagnosis of SCD (Hgb SS, SC, or Sβ-thal), have been receiving care at an SCD clinic for the past year, and can speak and understand English. The study will measure healthcare use over 12 months to see if the app and booklets are effective. The study is currently recruiting participants.
