CardioHeartConnect: Digital Cardiac Rehab for Aortic Valve Conditions

This study, called CardioHeartConnect, is looking at whether a digital cardiac rehabilitation program using the Peloton app can help people recovering from transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for aortic valve stenosis or disease. You would either use the CardioHeartConnect program, which includes daily short exercises like walking and yoga, or receive weekly educational materials (CardioHeartEd). The study aims to see if the Peloton program improves your physical activity, how well you can do daily tasks, and your overall quality of life. About 200 people will join, and you would need to be able to speak English and stand with or without help. The study will measure your physical activity using steps at 8 weeks and 12 months.

Appropriate for cardiac rehabilitation (CR) referral, as determined by the UCHealth Structural Heart \& Valve Clinic team
Community-dwelling
Reside in the United States
Able to speak and understand English
Able to provide informed consent
Able to stand with or without an assistive device
Able to see and hear content on the Peloton App via phone, tablet, or computer

    Change in mean daily steps from baseline to 8 weeks, measured using smartwatch accelerometer data collected through the Ortus platform. Steps will serve as the primary endpoint to evaluate the effect of CardioHeartConnect compared with control.
