Cochlear Implant Study for Hearing Loss
This study is looking at a new way to place a part of a Cochlear Implant (a device that helps people with hearing loss). Instead of the usual placement under a muscle, a specific part called the ECE1 ground electrode will be placed near a nerve behind the ear (Arnold's nerve). The goal is to see if this new placement works just as well as the standard method for improving hearing. You might be able to join if you are an adult needing a Cochlear Americas cochlear implant and are willing to participate. The study will measure your hearing using a test called the AzBio Sentence Recognition Test Score up to one year after your implant is activated. The current status of this study is unclear.
