Real-time fMRI Brain Activity for Fibromyalgia Pain

This study is exploring if people with fibromyalgia can learn to control their brain activity to reduce pain. You would use real-time functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) neurofeedback, which lets you see your brain activity live, to practice mental strategies for pain relief. The study involves two MRI visits and eight weekly sessions with a pain psychologist. You would be randomly assigned to either Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which teaches pain self-management, or a Fibromyalgia Education group, which provides information about the condition.
