Study on Exercise in Heat and Breast Milk Production

This study is looking at how exercising in the heat affects breast milk production and its contents in women who are breastfeeding. Researchers want to see if heat exposure during exercise changes the amount of milk produced and its composition over 24 hours. You might be able to join if you are a woman between 18 and 45 years old, currently breastfeeding an infant between 6 weeks and 24 months old, and had a full-term pregnancy. The study aims to understand if breast milk production decreases more after exercising in hot conditions compared to exercising in a comfortable temperature. There are 10 participants planned for this study.

Study design
This is a randomized, crossover study involving 10 participants. You will experience both exercising in hot conditions and exercising in comfortable conditions.
What's involved
You will have four study visits, including an initial visit to check eligibility, a baseline visit for measurements, and two separate exercise sessions (one in heat, one in comfortable temperature). You will need to collect breast milk samples before, one hour after, and 24 hours after each exercise session.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Breast milk production and composition will be measured 24 hours after each exercise condition.
