Videos to Aid Decision Making for Fibroid Treatment

This study is testing if an educational video can help people with uterine fibroids (non-cancerous growths in the uterus) make decisions about their treatment. Many treatment options exist for fibroids, which can cause heavy bleeding, and choosing the best one can be difficult. You may be able to join if you are 18-55 years old, have uterine fibroids, and have an upcoming appointment at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania to discuss treatment. Half of the participants will receive a video about fibroids before their appointment, while the other half will receive usual care. Researchers will then measure how confident and clear you feel about your treatment decision one week after your appointment. The study aims to see if the video helps reduce decisional conflict.
