Adaptive Rowing Seating for Veterans with Limited Trunk Stability
This study is looking at ways to improve adaptive indoor rowing for Veterans who have conditions like spinal cord injuries, stroke, or neurodegenerative disorders that affect their trunk stability. We are comparing a new device, the Adaptive Indoor Rowing Seat, with an older adaptive seating system. The goal is to see if the new seat helps participants move their trunk better, achieve a longer rowing stroke, and generate more power while rowing. This study aims to help Veterans access better exercise options through adaptive sports. We are currently recruiting about 15 participants for this study.

- Trunk Movementup to 4 weeks after enrollment
Changes in angular trunk position (degrees) will be captured during a self-selected, moderate pace for 2-5 minutes depending on their ability. They will complete 3 trials of rowing with at least 10 minutes of rest between trials on each seat.
- Rowing Stroke Lengthup to 4 weeks after enrollment
Changes in stroke length (cm) will be captured during a self-selected, moderate pace for 2-5 minutes depending on their ability. They will complete 3 trials of rowing with at least 10 minutes of rest between trials on each seat.
