Virtual Community Health Educator for Cancer Clinical Trial Referrals

This study is looking at how a virtual community health educator (vCHE) can help more cancer patients and their caregivers learn about and get referred to cancer clinical trials. A vCHE is a realistic virtual person who gives personalized information and support online, similar to a real-life community health worker. The goal is to increase the number of referrals to cancer clinical trials, especially for groups that are currently underrepresented. You can join if you are an adult (18 or older) who has been diagnosed with cancer, or if you are a caregiver for an adult with cancer. You also need to be able to understand English or Spanish. The study will measure how many referrals are made to clinical trials over a period of up to three months.

Inclusion

Individuals Diagnosed with Cancer
18 years or older
Must have received a cancer diagnosis at any point in your life
Able to understand English or Spanish
Care Partners
Must be a care partner (also known as caregiver, carer, supporter, helper, aide, assistant, companion, attendant, advocate, or family caregiver) of an adult who has received a cancer diagnosis
Must be actively involved in the decision-making process OR care of a person diagnosed with cancer
Must be 18 years or older

Exclusion

Self-reported: people who are currently or have been in a cancer clinical trial within the last 3 years
