Optimizing Mailed FIT Programs for Colorectal Cancer Screening

This study is looking at ways to improve how people get screened for colorectal cancer using a mailed test called FIT (fecal immunochemical test). We are testing two different approaches: one involves different materials in the FIT kit itself, and the other involves different ways to support you through the screening process (either by phone or text message). We want to see if these changes can help more people complete their colorectal cancer screening. You might be able to join if you are between 45 and 74 years old, live in an Appalachian county, have seen a doctor at a participating health system recently, and are due for colorectal cancer screening. The main goal is to see how many people return their FIT kits within 8 weeks.
