Observational Study of Heart and Liver Stiffness in Heart Failure

This observational study aims to understand how a new ultrasound device, the eMyosound LYRA, can measure stiffness in the heart and liver. Researchers want to see if these measurements, called shear wave velocity (SWV), can help in patients with heart failure where the heart pumps normally (HFpEF - Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction), or with slightly reduced pumping (HFmrEF), and in those with a condition called transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM), which causes the heart to thicken. You could be eligible if you are 60 years or older. The study will compare SWV measurements in these patient groups to a control group without heart problems. The main goal is to see if SWV can be reliably measured in these populations. The study status is unclear, and it plans to enroll 150 participants.

Study design
This is an observational study with three groups of participants. It is designed to understand how a new ultrasound device works in different patient populations.
What's involved
You will have one study visit lasting about 2.5 hours. This visit will include a physical exam, blood tests, and an echocardiogram.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
No long-term follow-up visits are required after your single study visit.

These measurements include: Myocardial Acoustic Radiation Force (ARF)-SWV, defined as the velocity projected along the muscle fibers during diastasis. Myocardial Natural (N)-SWV, measured during both mitral valve closure (MVC) and aortic valve closure (AVC). Hepatic ARF-SWV, measured in two distinct regions of the right liver lobe.
