Pilot Study of Aerobic Exercise for Early-Stage Triple Negative Breast Cancer

This study is looking at whether supervised aerobic exercise, specifically treadmill walking for 30 minutes, can be helpful for people with early-stage triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) who are also receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy before breast surgery. You might be able to join if you are 18 or older, male or female, and have clinical stage 2 or 3 TNBC. This means your cancer cells have specific characteristics (estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor levels at or below 10%, and HER2 negative). The main goal is to see if participants can stick to the exercise program for about 8 weeks. The study plans to enroll 33 people, but its current recruitment status is unclear.

Study design
This is an interventional study, meaning participants will receive a specific intervention (aerobic exercise). It aims to enroll 33 participants.
What's involved
Participants will engage in cardiorespiratory training via treadmill walking for 30 minutes, supervised by an exercise physiologist. Adherence to this program will be measured at approximately 8 weeks.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up

  • AdherenceApproximately 8 weeks

Feasibility will be measured by adherence to both exercise frequency and time (duration/intensity) at the supervised sessions.
