Study of GGTA1 KO Thymokidney for End-Stage Renal Disease
This study is testing a new type of kidney transplant called the GGTA1 KO Thymokidney for people with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), which is permanent kidney failure. This special kidney comes from a pig and has been changed to include thymic tissue. The goal is to see how safe and effective this transplant is. We are looking for people aged 40 to 70 who have ESRD and are either not able to get a traditional kidney transplant, or are on the transplant waiting list but are unlikely to receive a kidney within five years. The study will measure how long patients and the transplanted kidney survive for at least 24 weeks after the transplant, and then continue to track survival for many years.
