Sensory Feedback Strategies for Spinal Cord Injury

This study aims to understand how stimulating nerves in your limbs or brain can help restore sensation after a spinal cord injury. You would already be part of the "Reconnecting the Hand and Arm to the Brain (ReHAB)" study, meaning you have small electrodes implanted in your brain (sensory cortex) and around nerves in your arm. This trial will test different ways of using electrical stimulation, including directly to the brain (Intracortical microstimulation or ICMS) and to the nerves in your arm (peripheral nerve stimulation or PNS), or a combination of both. Researchers will measure how well you can identify forces and objects, and your ability to tell the difference between sensations. The goal is to find the best ways to bring back feeling.
