Comparing Weekly Somatrogon to Daily Genotropin for Short Stature

This study is looking at two growth hormone treatments for children with short stature. It compares a once-weekly injection called Somatrogon to a daily injection called Genotropin. We want to see if Somatrogon works as well as Genotropin and if it's safe. Children who can join are between 3 and 11 years old, have not yet started puberty, and have short stature because they were born small for their gestational age (SGA) or have idiopathic short stature (ISS), meaning the cause of their short stature isn't known. The main goal is to see how much children grow in height over 12 months. The study is currently recruiting participants.

Study design
This is an open-label study, meaning you and your doctor will know which treatment you are receiving. It will involve about 254 children who will be randomly assigned to receive either Somatrogon or Genotropin.
What's involved
Participants will receive treatment for 12 months, with a screening period of up to 30 days before starting treatment.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
The primary endpoint, annual height velocity, is measured after 12 months of treatment.
