PRE-EMPT: Preventing Early Heart Disease Progression

This study, PRE-EMPT, is looking for people aged 30-60 to help understand and prevent the progression of early heart disease. It aims to see if early treatment can help reduce the amount of "plaque" (cholesterol buildup) in heart arteries. You might be eligible if you have certain heart disease risk factors and early plaque detected by a Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) scan. The study will test two medications, Rosuvastatin 20 Mg (a statin) and Colchicine 0.5 MG (an anti-inflammatory), alone or in combination, against a placebo (an inactive substance). Success will be measured by changes in non-calcified plaque volume in your heart arteries after two years. The current status of this study is unclear.

Study design
