Diagnostic Stewardship Intervention for UTIs in Primary Care
This study is testing a new way to help reduce incorrect diagnoses and unnecessary antibiotic use for urinary tract infections (UTIs). Many urine samples collected for UTIs can become contaminated, leading to wrong diagnoses and sometimes giving antibiotics when they aren't needed. This study will use an educational tool called the MSCC Educational Tool, which includes a video and a flyer in English or Spanish, to teach people how to collect a urine sample properly. We want to see if this tool can reduce contamination in urine samples. You might be able to join if you are an adult (18 or older) having a urine test as part of your regular doctor's visit, can give informed consent, and speak English or Spanish. The main goal is to see if urine sample contamination is reduced within 48 hours of collection.
