Xpan Trocar System for Bariatric Surgery

This study is testing a new surgical tool called the Xpan Trocar System. A trocar is a device used in minimally invasive surgeries to create a small opening for instruments. The Xpan Trocar System is designed to expand gently, rather than cutting, to reduce trauma. Researchers want to see if this new system is just as effective as the standard trocar (a device that doesn't expand) in preventing the trocar from slipping or moving during bariatric surgeries like sleeve gastrectomy or bypass. You may be able to join if you are between 18 and 89 years old and are scheduled for one of these bariatric procedures. The study aims to enroll 35 participants.

Study design
This is an interventional study comparing the Xpan Trocar System to a standard trocar, involving 35 participants.
What's involved
Not specified in the trial record.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
The primary outcome, trocar slippage and displacement, is measured on Day 1, at the time of the procedure.
