Rehabilitation and Mechanical Ventilation Study

This study is looking at how different rehabilitation methods might help healthy adults before they use noninvasive mechanical ventilation (MV). MV is a breathing support machine. Sometimes, MV can weaken the diaphragm, your main breathing muscle. Researchers want to see if rehabilitation, like inspiratory strength training (IST) or transcutaneous spinal stimulation (TSCS), can help keep your diaphragm strong. You would have your breathing strength measured before and after using MV. This study is for non-smokers, aged 25 to 80, who are generally healthy and don't have certain lung conditions or other serious illnesses. The goal is to see if these rehabilitation methods can improve diaphragm function.

Study design
This interventional study plans to enroll 16 healthy adults. It will test different rehabilitation interventions, including inspiratory strength training (IST), transcutaneous spinal stimulation (TSCS), or sham TSCS.
