Sarcopenia in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients

This study is looking at ways to help people with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) who also have sarcopenia (muscle loss and weakness). While a high-protein diet usually helps with sarcopenia, it's not recommended for people with poor kidney function. This study will test two different amino acids, Valine and EEA, to see if they can safely improve muscle mass and strength in people aged 45-75 with severe CKD (eGFR of ≤15 mL/min). We want to see if these treatments are practical and helpful. The main goals are to measure changes in muscle strength (handgrip), muscle mass, and physical performance (walking speed) over 14 weeks.

Study design
This is an interventional study with 20 planned participants. It will evaluate the effects of Valine or EEA.
