Understanding Rejection After Lung Transplant (GRAfT 2.0)
This observational study, called GRAfT 2.0, aims to understand why some people develop rejection after a lung transplant and others do not. After a lung transplant, some people develop donor-specific antibodies (DSA), which are proteins that can cause the body to treat the new lungs as foreign. However, not everyone with DSA experiences rejection. Researchers want to find out the molecular differences between people with DSA who develop rejection and those who don't. You may be able to join if you are 18-75 years old and have progressive lung disease, or have had or are being evaluated for a lung transplant. The study is looking for 100 participants to help identify why rejection happens, with the goal of finding ways to prevent it.
