Aspirin Dosing in Pregnancy for Preeclampsia Risk
This study is looking at how different doses of aspirin affect pregnant people who are at high risk for preeclampsia (a serious pregnancy complication involving high blood pressure). Researchers want to understand how 81mg of aspirin taken twice a day (162mg total) affects platelets (tiny blood cells that help with clotting). You may be able to join if you are pregnant, between 18 and 50 years old, receiving prenatal care at NYU Langone Health Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates, and have a single pregnancy. You also need to be at high risk for preeclampsia based on certain clinical factors. The study will measure how well platelets clump together after you've been taking aspirin for about four weeks. This study is currently recruiting 30 participants.
- Study design
- This is an interventional study with a planned enrollment of 30 participants. It is a single-arm study, meaning all participants receive the same intervention.
- What's involved
- You would take 81mg of aspirin twice a day. Blood samples will be collected at the beginning of the study and again about 4 weeks after you start taking aspirin.
- Compensation
- Not stated in the trial record.
- Follow-up
- Platelet aggregation will be measured at baseline and 4 weeks after starting aspirin.
