This study is looking for adolescents aged 14-18 who have experienced trauma and have symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). We want to understand how young people with trauma-related symptoms react to stress and strong emotions. Participants will engage in tasks that involve responding to threats, managing emotions, and repeatedly imagining a stressful event using a technique called "script-driven imagery." We will measure anxiety levels and physical responses like heart rate and muscle activity (Corrugator Supercilii Electromyography or EMG) to see if the repeated imaginal exposure changes these responses over time. We also want to see if how you react to threats and manage emotions at the beginning of the study affects how you respond to the imaginal exposure. A caregiver must be willing to participate with you.
