Currently, many patients are told to eat a low-fiber diet after this surgery. This study will compare patients who eat a regular diet after surgery with previous patients who followed a low-fiber diet. The main goals are to see if a regular diet leads to fewer hospital readmissions within 30 days and fewer surgery-related problems. You may be able to join if you are 18 or older and are scheduled for colorectal surgery, as long as you don't have a bowel obstruction.
