Growth Hormone and Beta-cells Study
This research study at the University of Missouri is looking for volunteers to help understand how growth hormone affects beta-cells (cells in your pancreas that make insulin and help control blood sugar). We want to learn more about how growth hormone influences these cells in people who have impaired fasting glucose or impaired glucose tolerance (also known as prediabetes), which are risk factors for developing type 2 diabetes. The study will measure how well your beta-cells are working before and 7 days after receiving rhGH (recombinant human growth hormone). We are looking for people aged 18 to 59 with a BMI between 18.5 and 45.9, and who have impaired fasting glucose or impaired glucose tolerance.
