Hearing Outcomes with Nucleus® 8 and Nucleus® 7 Sound Processors

This study is looking at how well a special feature called ForwardFocus works in two different sound processors: the Nucleus® 8 Sound Processor and the Nucleus® 7 Sound Processor. ForwardFocus helps reduce background noise. The study includes adults aged 18 and older who have cochlear implants, including both veterans and non-veterans. Researchers want to see if the Nucleus 8 with its SCAN 2 ForwardFocus program helps people understand speech better in noisy environments compared to the Nucleus 7 with its SCAN ForwardFocus program. Success will be measured by how accurately participants understand speech in noise. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status.

Study design
This interventional study plans to enroll 26 adult participants. It will compare the performance of two different sound processors.
