BOND: Direct Breastfeeding for Infants with Congenital Heart Disease
This study, called BOND, aims to help mothers of infants with congenital heart disease (CHD) breastfeed directly. Researchers want to see if a special breastfeeding support program, which includes prenatal counseling, a video, and lactation consultant support, can increase direct breastfeeding rates. They will also look at how direct breastfeeding affects the well-being of both the baby and the mother. You may be able to join if you are pregnant with a baby diagnosed with CHD or have a newborn with CHD who is expected to need heart surgery or a procedure within 30 days. The main goal is to see how many infants are directly breastfed at 4 months of age. The current recruitment status is unclear.
