Lifestyle Intervention for Muscle Function in Older Adults

This study is looking for adults aged 50 and older who have obesity (a body mass index or BMI of 30 kg/m2 or higher) and insulin resistance (a HOMA-IR score of 3 or higher). The goal is to see if a structured nutrition plan combined with supervised exercise can improve body composition, muscle function, and energy balance over 12 weeks. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive a structured nutrition plan and exercise, or follow their usual diet and exercise. The main way we'll measure success is by looking at changes in fat mass. The study aims to enroll 80 people. The current status of the study is unclear.
