LEGACY: Lung Cancer Screening in Individuals With a Lung Cancer Family History

This study is looking into whether an artificial intelligence model called Sybil can accurately predict the chance of developing lung cancer in people with a family history of the disease. Sybil uses images from a previous CT scan (computed tomography scan, a special X-ray) to make these predictions. You can join if you are 18 or older and have a family history of lung cancer (meaning at least one close relative like a parent, sibling, or child, or at least two second-degree relatives like a grandparent or aunt/uncle, had lung cancer). The study will look at how well Sybil predicts future lung cancer diagnoses for up to two years after your CT scan. The current recruitment status is unclear, but the study plans to include 2,250 participants.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion

≥18 years of age
Positive family history of lung cancer (defined as):
Has ≥1 first-degree relative OR
Has ≥2 second-degree relatives with a diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer or small cell lung cancer (NB: a first-degree relative = parent, sibling, or child, a second-degree relative = grandparent, blood-related aunt or uncle, grandchild, blood-related niece or nephew, half-sibling)
Willing to provide images from at least one previously obtained CT Chest scan, if available.
