Impact of Risk Feedback on Behavioral Trajectories
This study is looking at how giving young adults personalized information about health risks, including behavioral, physical, and genetic factors, might change their alcohol consumption. You could receive feedback on your alcohol response (PHEN feedback), feedback on both your alcohol response and genetic information (PHEN+GENE Feedback), or a control feedback. The study wants to see if these types of information can help young adults make different choices about drinking. Researchers will track your drinking frequency and how much alcohol you consume over two years to see if the feedback made a difference. This study is for USC students aged 17-25 of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Vietnamese heritage.
- Study design
- This is an interventional study planning to enroll 450 participants. It compares different types of feedback (PHEN, PHEN+GENE, or control) on alcohol consumption.
- What's involved
- You will have an in-person baseline session for a DNA sample, surveys, and an interview. You'll then receive a brief online information session and complete online surveys approximately every 3 months for 2 years.
- Compensation
- Not stated in the trial record.
- Follow-up
- Participants will be followed for up to 2 years after the intervention.
