UHFUS Characterization of Normal Lymphatic Anatomy in Breast Cancer Patients
This study is looking at how lymphatic channels (small vessels that carry fluid and immune cells) appear in people with breast cancer using a special type of ultrasound called Ultra-High Frequency Ultrasound (UHFUS). Researchers will inject a dye called Indocyanine green (ICG) solution into your hand and wrist. Then, they will use UHFUS to take pictures of your lymphatic channels between your wrist and elbow. The main goal is to measure the size of these lymphatic channels. You may be able to join if you are 18 or older, have been diagnosed with breast cancer, and are planning to have surgery called axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) or sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB). This study is currently unclear regarding its recruitment status and plans to enroll 50 participants.
- Study design
- This is a pilot study involving 50 participants with breast cancer. It is an interventional study, meaning participants will receive a specific intervention.
- What's involved
- You would receive an injection of Indocyanine green (ICG) solution in your hand and wrist. Then, Ultra-High Frequency Ultrasound (UHFUS) will be used to capture images of your lymphatic channels.
- Compensation
- Not stated in the trial record.
- Follow-up
- The primary endpoint, outer lymphatic vessel diameter, is measured during ultra-high frequency ultrasound imaging. No further follow-up is specified.
