Automated Adaptive Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson's Disease

This study is looking at a new way to deliver Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for people with Parkinson's disease (PD). DBS is a surgical treatment that uses a device similar to a pacemaker to send electrical signals to specific areas of the brain. This study compares two types of stimulation using the Medtronic Percept Neurostimulator: "adaptive DBS," which automatically adjusts the stimulation throughout the day, and "constant DBS," which delivers a steady level of stimulation. The main goal is to see if adaptive DBS can reduce bothersome movement symptoms more effectively than constant DBS over about one year. You may be able to join if you are 25-75 years old, have Parkinson's disease, and already have a Percept DBS device implanted. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status.
