Observational Study of Atrial Fibrillation with Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors
This study is looking at how often atrial fibrillation (AF), an irregular heart rhythm, happens in people with certain blood cancers like chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, mantle cell lymphoma, or marginal zone lymphoma. You could join if you are starting a cancer medicine called a Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitor (BTKI) or a non-BTKI therapy (like venetoclax-based treatments). Researchers will follow 500 people for up to 12 months to see if AF occurs. The study will also check if AF affects your cancer treatment or leads to other health problems like bleeding or stroke. The study's status is currently unclear.
- Study design
- This is an observational study involving 500 participants. It compares 400 people starting BTKI therapy to 100 people with similar blood cancers not taking a BTKI.
- What's involved
- Participants will wear a smartwatch and, later, a heart monitor patch to check for irregular heart rhythms over 12 months.
- Compensation
- Not stated in the trial record.
- Follow-up
- Participants will be followed for up to 12 months to measure the incidence of Atrial Fibrillation.

What this trial measures
- Incidence of Atrial FibrillationUp to 12 months
Incidence of new atrial fibrillation (AF) detected by smartwatch photoplethysmography with confirmatory ECG, and/or by 14-day ECG patch monitor, compared between participants on BTKI therapy and non-BTKI control participants.
