Creatine and Carbohydrate Supplementation for Endurance Performance

This study is looking at how creatine monohydrate and carbohydrate supplements, alone or together, affect your exercise performance. Researchers want to see if these supplements can help you exercise longer compared to a placebo (a flavored water without active ingredients). You might be able to join if you are a healthy, non-smoking adult between 18 and 40 years old, are physically active, and have a normal body mass index (BMI). The main goal is to measure how much longer you can exercise until exhaustion. This study is currently unclear on its recruitment status and plans to include 12 participants.

Study design
This is an interventional study with 12 planned participants. It compares the effects of creatine monohydrate, carbohydrate, a combination of both, and a placebo solution.
What's involved
Not specified in the trial record.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Your exercise time to exhaustion will be measured through study completion, which is on average 4 weeks.

  • Exercise Time to exhaustionChange in exercise time to exhaustion ( in seconds) through study completion, over the course of study completion, on average 4 weeks.

Time to exhaustion (seconds) during continuous cycling performed at 60% of each participant's maximal cycling power output following supplementation with placebo, creatine monohydrate, or creatine monohydrate plus carbohydrate.
