Comparing SMILE and Ray Tracing-guided LASIK for Nearsightedness and Astigmatism

This study is comparing two types of laser eye surgery, SMILE surgery and Ray tracing-guided LASIK surgery, for people with nearsightedness (myopia) and astigmatism. You would have one eye treated with Ray tracing-guided LASIK and the other eye treated with SMILE surgery. Researchers want to see which method leads to better vision and quality of life. They will measure how well you can see at a distance after surgery, specifically at three months. This study is looking for 62 participants between 22 and 59 years old who have healthy eyes, nearsightedness between -1.00 and -8.00 diopters, and astigmatism of 3.00 diopters or less. People with very thin corneas or certain eye disorders cannot participate.

Study design
This is an interventional study with 62 participants. The choice of which eye receives Ray tracing-guided LASIK and which receives SMILE surgery will be randomized (assigned by chance).
