Depression in Youth Onset Type 2 Diabetes Study

This study is looking for young people aged 12-17 who have Type 2 Diabetes and are also experiencing symptoms of depression. The goal is to see if a group program called T2D-IPT (Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Type 2 Diabetes) is better than a T2DEd (Type 2 Diabetes Education) program at improving depression, diabetes distress, and blood sugar control. To join, you need to have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes for at least 3 months, have elevated depression symptoms, and an HbA1c (a measure of blood sugar over time) of 7.0% or higher. The study will measure how well T2D-IPT is accepted, changes in depression, and changes in blood sugar control after 3 months. The study plans to enroll 50 participants, but its current recruitment status is unclear.
