This study is looking at a new way to help Veterans who experience repetitive, negative thoughts about suicide (suicide-specific rumination). It uses Real Time fMRI Neurofeedback, which is a technique that shows you your own brain activity in real-time. The goal is to help you learn to change brain activity linked to these thoughts. This is a small, initial study to see if this approach is practical and acceptable to Veterans. You may be able to join if you are a U.S. military veteran between 18-65, have a certain score on a suicide rumination scale, are stable on your medications, and are already receiving mental health care. The study will measure how acceptable and practical this treatment is two weeks after your first neurofeedback session.

The Client Satisfaction Questionnaire will be used to assess acceptability and feasibility of implementing real-time fMRI neurofeedback in a Veteran population. The total score on the questionnaire ranges from from 8 to 32 with higher scores indicative of greater satisfaction.
