Internet CBT for Depression in Older ICU Survivors

This study, called ADEPT-ICU, is looking at whether an internet-based therapy called Good Days Ahead (MindStreet, Inc.) can help older adults who have been in the intensive care unit (ICU) and are experiencing depression. Depression after an ICU stay can sometimes lead to problems with memory and thinking (cognitive decline). The study aims to see if this therapy can reduce these memory and thinking issues. You might be able to join if you are 50 or older, spent more than 48 hours in the ICU, and have symptoms of depression. The main goal is to see how your subjective cognitive decline (your own feeling of decline in memory and thinking) changes over 6 and 12 months.

Study design
This study plans to enroll 300 participants. It compares two groups: one receiving therapist-assisted internet cognitive-behavioral therapy and another receiving depression education and standard care.
