Comparing Nerve Blocks for Knee Replacement Pain

This study is looking at two ways to manage pain after total knee replacement surgery. Researchers want to see if a continuous nerve block using an OnQ pump with ropivacaine (a numbing medicine) works better than a single injection of ropivacaine. You might be able to join if you are at least 18 years old, having your first total knee replacement on one side, and weigh over 50 kg (about 110 pounds). You cannot join if you have been taking strong opioid pain medicine for a long time. The main goals are to see how much pain relief you get and how much opioid pain medicine you need for 7 days after surgery. The study's current status is unclear.

Study design
