Training Platform for Peer Recovery Supporters

This study is testing new ways to train Peer Recovery Supporters (people who use their own recovery experience to help others). It compares standard training (Training-as-Usual) with two new digital platforms: TDPP-A (a self-paced online program) and TDPP-Z (the same online program plus live Zoom sessions). The goal is to see if these new platforms improve the skills and adherence of Peer Recovery Supporters. You can join if you are 18 or older, live in the U.S., have at least one year of continuous sobriety, and plan to become a Peer Recovery Supporter. The study aims to improve training and ultimately help more people recover from substance and alcohol use disorders. The current status of this study is unclear.

Study design
This interventional study plans to enroll 120 participants. Participants will be assigned to one of three training groups: Training-as-Usual, TDPP-A, or TDPP-Z.
What's involved
Participants will receive one of three training programs: standard training, a self-paced online program, or an online program with three live Zoom sessions. Skill adherence will be measured within two weeks of training completion.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up

Assessed using the adapted Yale Adherence and Competence Scale II (YACS II), which measures skill adherence during simulated peer recovery support interactions. Each participant is scored by blinded, trained raters using a standardized coding protocol.
