Enhancing Addiction Treatment Through Psychoeducation with Metacognium

This study is exploring a new way to help people with substance use disorders (SUDs) by using an app called Metacognium. The app provides "Neuroscience-Informed Psychoeducation for Addiction" (NIPA), which aims to increase your awareness of how addiction affects your thinking and decision-making. You would continue your usual treatment while also using the Metacognium app for four weeks. The study wants to see if it's possible to recruit people for this NIPA intervention and how well participants stick with and complete the program. To join, you need to be 18-65 years old, have an opioid and/or stimulant use disorder, be on medication for your SUD, and own a smartphone. You cannot join if you have current psychosis, mania, suicidal/homicidal thoughts, or don't speak English. The current recruitment status is unclear.

current DSM-5 opioid and/or stimulant use disorder
currently on medication treatment for SUD
owning a smartphone with sufficient functionality to download and utilize the NIPA app.
