Impact of MOUD Policy Changes During the Pandemic
This study is looking at how changes in federal and state policies during the COVID-19 pandemic affected the use of medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), specifically methadone and buprenorphine. It also looks at how these changes impacted medications for alcohol use disorder (MAUD). Researchers want to understand if these policy changes made it easier for people with opioid or alcohol use disorder to get and stay on these important treatments. They will also examine how these changes affected health outcomes like emergency room visits, hospitalizations, and overdoses. You may be able to join this study if you are 18 or older and have a documented substance use disorder (alcohol or opioid) within the Veteran's Health Administration.
